Consumer Reports Releases Their List Of Best Tires For 2016

(Feb, 2016) Consumer Reports has released their choices for the top tires for 2016 in their April 2016 magazine issue. Not surprisingly, Michelin dominates nearly every category, although Continental, Pirelli and Cooper made strong showings as well.

In the company’s testing, over 150 different tire models were evaluated for their abilities in braking, handling, rolling resistance, hydroplaning resistance, winter traction and tread life.

To take things further, CR also drove every set of tires around the clock for 16,000 miles at a course they set up in west Texas.

All of the picks in CR’s latest rankings are excellent tires. However, there are a couple of newer models that have been released in the last few months that do not show up on the list. For example, the BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S is on the list under UHP all-season tires. While it has been a nice tire, it’s being replaced by the higher performing BFG g-Force COMP-2 A/S.
