Pirelli Set To Debut New Winter Sottozero 3 Tire
April 2013 – While most of us are thinking of Spring and Summer at this time, Pirelli is gearing up for the upcoming winter season by introducing its new ultra-high performance Winter Sottozero 3 tire.
According to Pirelli, this new winter tire is designed for vehicles “with a medium to high engine capacity.”
Features of this soon-to-be released model include:
- Deeper tread grooves for enhanced water dispersion
- 3-D grooves that work to increase snow on snow traction for improved performance
- Larger optimized contact patch for increased grip on wet, slush, ice and snow covered surfaces
- A unique and high tech tread compound that utilizes advanced polymers to improve overall tire
performance
Pirelli says that the new Winter Sottozero 3 will be available in 11 run-flat sizes that range from 16-21 inches. No exact date has been set for launch.
