Antares Comfort A5 Tire Review & Rating

The Antares Comfort A5 all-season tire focuses on delivering dependable traction, durability and handling throughout the year. Designed to provide a more comfortable and smoother ride, the Comfort A5 is built for drivers of a wide range of crossovers, SUV’s, minivans and other vehicles.

Sporting an advanced tread pattern design and constructed using a durable all-season compound, the Antares Comfort A5 provides excellent grip on dry and wet pavement. You’ll find the asymmetric tread pattern to be very responsive and it gives a good feel for road. In addition, handling and cornering stability is better than average among tires in this class.

Added sipes combine with deeper circumferential grooves to enhance grip on wet road surfaces and reduce the risks of hydroplaning on the highway. The sipes further aid with traction in light snow, but this is by no means a winter tire.

Antares offers a wide range of 15-20 inch sizes, with S, T, H and V-speed ratings available. A 45K mile tread warranty is also included on all sizes.

Pros

  • Excellent dry and wet traction
  • Good handling and cornering stability
  • Smooth and comfortable ride
  • Value for the money

Cons

  • Struggles on ice and snow
  • A little extra noise at higher speeds

Overall Thoughts

The Antares Comfort A5 tire may surprise you with its overall performance. Expect to find very good traction on dry or wet pavement to go with a smooth and comfortable ride. Handling is better than most when it comes to a value-based tire.

Of course, like any tire there are some negatives as well. We found a little extra noise at highway speeds, but in fairness it’s not excessive to where you’re having to turn up the radio or raise your voice when you want to talk to your passengers. Traction and handling on deeper snow and ice is a struggle at times. Again, this is a common issue for most every all-season tire.

Overall, we like this model for its solid performance and lower price. It compares well against many of the top name brand all-season tires and will save you some extra money as well.

  1. I put the Antares Comfort A5 on my Honda CRV. Checked the tire pressure every week, had the alignment checked every 6 months and still the tires were worn beyond the wear bars in the tread in 20,000 miles. They simply do not last.

  2. I bought a clean, used vehicle with these tires on it, in apparently new condition! In a few months, both of the rear tires are suffering from tread separation with 9/32’s of tread left…Will be replacing all four…

  3. I bought 4 of these tires in April of this year. I have about 16000 kms on them, one is bald the other three are fine. Calling the dealer tomorrow…

  4. I have the States comfort A5 tires, they are junk, have less than 30000 miles on them and they are bald, they are on a 2014 avenger and garage serviced, even the mechanic is baffled by it, center of tires are worren out for no reason, the mechanic has from the start of them showing wear dropped the tire pressure 5 lb. To try and make them last but even that didn’t work. Don’t waste your money on these tires. Started having issues at less than 10000 miles and now it won’t pass inspection they are so bad. One year use and garbage. Last tires were bridge stone and got 60000 miles and only reason they went bad was from an accident causing an alignment issue. Never again will I put antares on my vehicle
