Michelin Primacy 3 Tire Review & Rating

Tires that carry the Michelin name have a certain degree of quality that they are expected to uphold and the Primacy 3 does exactly that. Used as original equipment on a variety of luxury coupes and sedans, the Primacy 3 is also available as a replacement model as well.

A unique tread compound and new Michelin tread pattern helps ensure solid traction in dry and wet conditions by keeping the entire tread surface area in contact with the road. It also includes auto-blocking sipes for increased traction and braking power.

Michelin Primacy 3 Tire Review

The emphasis for Michelin here is to provide excellent dry and wet braking power and response and this is something that is achieved with the Primacy 3 models.

The tires can be found in 16 to 19 inch sizes and they come with a 35,000 mile warranty as well as standard materials and workmanship coverage.

Pros

  • Quality assured with the Michelin name
  • Green and eco-friendly technology
  • Excellent braking in dry and wet road conditions
  • Come with safety in mind

Cons

  • Ride can be uncomfortable at times

Overall Thoughts

The only negative we can say about the Primacy 3 tires from Michelin is that they do not absorb shocks and vibrations as well as some other summer tires out there. Aside from that they offer everything you want in a passenger car tire.

Safety is the important thing for Michelin and they make sure that braking is consistent and effective with a solid tread design. This also helps to add a high level of traction and the tires grip the road with ease.

The Primacy 3 is really designed as an entry level model and to that end they do their job nicely. If you want consistency at a reasonable price that comes with one of the leading brand names in the world then the Michelin Primacy 3 tires are not a bad choice.

  1. In on my cars after the Pirelli Rosso were done I put the Primacys3’s in my car. First this Aint a UHP tire, it is a Touring Summer tire.
    Pros:
    1. Great traction in both dry and wet.
    2. Great braking!!! You feel it even more in wet.
    3. Not Noisy.
    4. The tread last quite a bit
    Cons.
    1. Soft sidewall, not really a tire for spirited driving.
If you want a nice Touring tire that feels a little sporty and you want great handling and braking is your priority this is your tire, if you want a sporty tire you should look another model.
