Continental ContiTouringContact CV95 Tire Review & Rating
Developed for sports coupes and luxury performance sedans, the Continental ContiTouringContact CV95 tire has a wide range of technology that is designed to provide a high standard in all weather conditions.
A silica-enhanced tread compound ensures that the tires grip in wet, dry and in light snowy conditions while this is also enhanced by the tri-radial tread contours which increase traction in wet conditions by dispelling water and reducing hydroplane risks, although it could be better.
The tires feature a computer optimized tread to provide a quiet ride and Continental has used their own system for reducing road noise. Sipes provide traction in the snow and durability is provided with the twin steel belts that are combined with a spirally wound jointless nylon reinforcement.
- Dry traction
- Quiet and comfortable ride quality
- Winter handling
- No mileage warranty
Continental has a history of building solid performing tires, however we feel the ContiTouringContact CV95 falls a bit short. While traction in dry conditions are very good, winter grip is not so good, especially in deep snow or on ice. To be fair this is generally the case with most all-season tires.
Where this tire really shines is with the smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. As a touring tire, Continental has put a lot of effort into providing exceptional ride quality.
Treadlife has been another area of concern for many drivers. For the price you would expect a longer treadlife. The lack of a tread mileage warranty doesn’t help either.
Overall, we rank the CV95 in the lower half of the touring all-season category.
