Yokohama Advan A82A Tire Review & Rating
The Yokohama Advan A82A is designed to deliver high performance handling to go with dependable all-season capabilities. Used mainly as original equipment on the 2006-2009 Subaru Legacy, the A82A is also available as a replacement tire for vehicles that utilize a P205/50R17 fitment.
An all-season silica-enhanced tread compound and symmetric tread is designed to provide enhanced dry and wet traction. This tread pattern also increases cornering grip and tire stability at higher speeds.
Three circumferential grooves and the tire’s unique lateral grooves add to wet traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. Since this is an M+S rated all-season tire there is some added winter traction on this model, but it is not where this tire excels.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts with nylon reinforcement for added strength and stability throughout the speed range. A polyester cord body adds to ride comfort. The A82A comes with a V-speed rating and a black sidewall design.

Overall Thoughts
While this Yokohama tire provides more than adequate dry performance and cornering grip, we feel it could do more. That said, the ride is comfortable for the most part and steering response is quick and provides good feel.
Wet traction is an area we would like to see improvement in, although to be fair it is not bad by any stretch. Just use a little extra caution and slow down a bit on wet pavement. Road noise is a little more pronounced on this tire, especially as the tire wears down.
Overall, the A82A has proven to be a nice high-performance all-season tire for the Subaru Legacy. It certainly is not a bad choice in a replacement model. However, we will say that other models like the Continental DWS06, Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus and BFG Comp-2 A/S among others, all deliver much higher performance and cost a bit less than the A82A.

Warranty
Yokohama provides a limited tread warranty on the A82A. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first 2/32 inch of wear. Materials and workmanship are warranted for 5-years and include free replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time period or down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
