The all-season tread compound includes PermaBlack which keeps the tire looking new throughout its lifetime. The tread also features the Severe Service Emblem that identifies the tire as meeting the industry’s severe snow and weather standards. This is not often found on other tire maker models.

As its name implies, there are three unique tread zones on this tire. The Dry Zone sports a reinforced outer tread with shoulder blocks that promote more stability and increased steering response ondry road surfaces.

The Wet Zone utilizes deep “Aquachutes” around the tread that are created to expel rain water away from the tire and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. An Ice Zone uses a siped and interlocking tread pattern to enhance grip and traction on snow or ice covered roads.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are reinforced with a nylon wrapped cord to go with a polyester cord body that adds strength and durability to the tire. They also create a better overall ride quality and a longer treadlife. Goodyear includes a 6-year or 60,000 mile tread warranty with this tire.

Ride comfort is good despite the road noise you get with a tread design such as this. The noise is not severe by any means, but a little more noticeable than on other models. The 60,000 mile warranty on this tire is one of the best you will find for models in this class, making this tire a great choice for year round all-season driving needs.

Warranty

Goodyear includes a 6-year or 60,000 mile treadlife warranty on this model, as well as a 6-month or first 2/32 inch of wear on the tire’s uniformity.

Materials and workmanship are guaranteed for 6-years and come with first year or first 2/32 inch of wear free tire replacement. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time or to the final 2/32 of tread depth.

There is also a 30-day test drive guarantee and a 2-year roadside service plan. Overall, the warranty coverage is very good.
