Continental ContiProContact Tire Review & Rating
Continental has used some of its latest technology in creating the ContiProContact. Engineered for drivers of foreign and domestic coupes and sedans, this tire sports an all-season touring design that is built for both performance and comfort.
The symmetrical tread design is made from an all-season tread compound that combines with optimized sipes around the tread that interlock for enhanced stability and dry handling and traction. Optimized shoulder lugs provide increased steering response and stability.
Wide circumferential grooves and the interlocking sipes improve wet surface traction, while Continental’s unique ProActiveEdge Technology adds over 750 arched edges around the tire to provide better traction during stormy weather and poor road conditions. A center rib groove adds more comfort by reducing tread noise and vibration.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to give the tire added strength and stability at higher speeds. Continental includes either a 60,000 or 80,000 mile tread life warranty depending on the tire’s speed rating.

Overall Thoughts
The ContiProContact is one of those tires that offers great performance in some areas, while it underperforms in others. For example, this model provides top of the line traction and handling on dry road surfaces. It also sports a smooth and quiet ride, making it one of the better touring tires in its class.
However, many drivers have complained about poor treadwear and not getting the mileage out of the tire as they had expected. Another problem is the drop in winter performance, especially on icy pavement. While this is not a winter tire of course, traction could be a littler better than it is.
Overall, we rank this model in the middle of the touring all-season class.

Warranty
Continental includes two different mileage tread warranties on this model. A 6-year or 60,000 mile warranty for H-speed rated tires or a 6-year or 80,000 mile warranty on S and T-speed rated models. All tires have a one-year or first 2/32 inch of wear guarantee on tire uniformity.
Materials and workmanship are warranted for 6-years and include free first year or first 2/32 inch of wear tire replacement. Continental prorates the amount for the remaining time period or down to the last 2/32 inch of tread depth.
You also get a one-year or first 2/32 inch of wear road hazard warranty and Continental’s 30-day customer satisfaction guarantee.

I have a 2019 Toyota CHR with these tires, came with the car when I bought it new. At less than 27,000 miles, I’m being told the tread is worn and they will need to be replaced soon. I will definitely make sure I don’t get these again! I live in NW Oregon, weather is typically mild so no special wear and tear, just crappy tires.
I bought a 2020 ford connect. I have 20,000 miles on it and 2 of the tires have blown out from the sides. I would never recommend these tires.
I changed my Michelin Primacy 3ST (Factory Originals) at 83,000kms with Continental ContiPremiumContact® 5 for my Toyota Camry Hybrid 2019, country run, long drives, hardly any city driving. The car has now done 98,000kms (15,000 on the Conti tyres) and they are already showing signs of wear. My mechanic and Toyota both tell me its got another 10,000kms before they need replacing again. Biggest waste of money ever!

I recently purchased a 2020 Ford Escape with Continental ContiProContact tires. I’ve driven over 1,000,000 miles in 40 years and I’ve never been frightened to drive on slippery roads more than I am now with these tires. I would not recommend this tire to anyone.
I have 18,650 miles on a 2018 Chevrolet Trax that was purchased new with Continental Contipro 205 70 R16 tires. These tires are worn down evenly to 3/32″, and will not pass the next inspection. No alignment, tire pressure, or other mechanical issues. These tires have a very poor tread life, and I would not recommend them. I got better mileage on recapped tires in the old days!
Tire cause a lot of noise with only 3months used.
Had 2 sets of these tires. Lasted only 30,000 miles. Nissan Versa is 2011 and only has 60,000 miles and this is the 2nd set of tires. Live in a mild climate and hardly bad conditions.
I have 65000 on a Civic Sport and will probably replace with same tire. Awsome handling with medium road noise. Great wet weather traction.
I have over 50,000 on my Ford Escape SE. I live in Florida and tires do not last long down here because of the seashell in the Asphalt. I was looking into the Michelin Defender LTX. The reviews are terrible for tread life. I think I will stick with these. At least I know I can get 50,000 out of them and for down here, that’s pretty darn good.
OE with 46,000 on an Escape fwd with regular rotations. They are all thoroughly worn out.
Very poor tread life. There are 20,436 miles on the tires and the Mercedes dealer said they needed replacement. They have a tread life rating of 500. Our Michelins on another Mercedes also have the same tread rating and they have 56,000 miles with lots of tread left. These tires are actually more expensive than the Michelins but have lower life. The dealer said our tread life was “typical” for these tires. Yikes!

Its the OE tire on a 2015 Ford Escape AWD, I am very pleased with them. 74,000 miles and evenly worn to slightly above the wear bars. Handled very well in snow, rain, even off road a few times. If my local dealer had these tires I would buy them again.

Have one used 215-55-16 inch Conti-Pro-Contact tire AND one new Goodyear Eagle tire on the front drive wheels of my Hyundai Elantra. It is remarkable how similar are the performance of each tire to each other. Providing similar dry & wet traction (both, very good in the snow too), smoothness & quietness, these twins are even wearing at the same rate. While braking, there is no pulling to one side or the other with these differently treaded & patterned tires. Both tires look like they will travel 40,000+ miles. Both tho, have dissimilar tread patterns.
15,000 miles and these need to be replace. These are OE on Buick Encore AWD Crossovers. Shame on Buick for putting these junky tires on a $29,000 Vehicle.
