The Geolandar I/T G072 from Yokohama is designed to provide dependable traction in the roughest of winter driving conditions, while also maintaining a comfortable ride. Developed for drivers of trucks and SUV’s, the G072 is Yokohama’s latest generation winter tire.

A new, multi-flat tread profile increases the contact patch, while also creating a higher void ratio which results in maximizing snow and ice traction and handling. The tire’s 3-D sipes enhance tread block strength and provided added biting edges for gripping packed snow and ice.

V-reverse blocks along the center rib transfer water to the tire’s circumferential grooves and then out from under the tire. It is a unique setup that seems to work very well in rain and slush. Yokohama has added a power edge block that equalizes the pressure when driving with a heavy load. The benefit here is better stability and more even treadwear.

Inside the IT G072 are two steel belts with a nylon reinforcement for added strength and durability throughout the speed zone. They also provide increased comfort, which is something that many reviews from other drivers have pointed out.
