Ride comfort is enhanced through the tire’s pyramidal steel belts, a heavy gauge inner liner as well as insulating belt edge strips that work together to help absorb shocks and vibrations while keeping road noise to a minimum and offering a smooth and comfortable ride.

The DuraShield Construction technology also creates increased stability on all types of road surfaces and allows for more responsive steering, better tread life and a dependable driving experience. Sizes are available from 15-20 inches, and speed ratings of V and W.

Pros

  • Reliable dry handling and braking performance
  • Comfortable ride
  • Above average treadlife
  • Good value for the money

Cons

  • Winter traction
  • Some road noise at times

Overall Thoughts

The Uniroyal GTZ All Season manages to combine high quality and ultra-performance within a budget price. The tires handle great in normal wet and dry conditions, as well as provide excellent dry braking performance. Winter weather traction is iffy as you might expect from a UHP tire. Anything over a few inches of snow is likely going to cause handling problems.

There is a bit of road noise every now and again, however nothing that would be distracting or damaging to the overall quality of the ride. They absorb vibrations and shocks well, so driving on them is as comfortable as you are likely to get for the price.

Even though there is no mileage warranty with the tires you can expect to get upwards of 40k miles out of them which trumps the likes of many of the models from other tire makers in this category. Overall, the GTZ All Season is pretty impressive and ranks in the upper half of its class.

  1. You should review the new Uniroyal tires:
    1. The GTZ A/s2
    2. Tiger Paw Touring A/S

Some friends had the 1st Gen of the GTZ and told me it was a superb AS Tire.
Would be nice that you uddate with the new gen.

  2. The Uniroyal tiger paws are great tires. I have them on a 2015 Ford Fusion and there are no vibrations or noise at higher speeds and they handle great for a terrific ride. Will always buy the Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ in the future.

  3. i own a Lincoln MKZ with Uniroyal Tiger Paw All Season 245/45ZR18 96 W M+S tires, the Lincoln dealership service department has had to rebalance the tires 4 times in the last 15 months due to vibration at 65 mph on up, the technician noted that specifically it was the front tires that required rebalancing, he had put a chalk mark on each front wheel rim extending onto the tire, each of the last two times I brought the car in, each of the last two trips in, the technician noticed that the chalk mark on the tire had rotated 90 degrees from the chalk mark on the wheel rim, in other words the front tires are rotating (slipping) on the wheel rims, I was advised to start slower from a stand still to prevent this problem, I paid particular attention between the last two visits to dealer to start slowly, and it made no difference the tires still rotated on the wheel rims, the technician even put an adhesive all the way around the wheel rim before remounting the tires. The technician noted on the work order “suspect defect in tires” this last time in.

    1. Greetings,
We are so sorry that you had to experience such an upsetting situation. Please check with your vehicle
manufacturer if these tires are a good option for you or ask them for any alternatives they’d suggest you
to go with as these tires might not suit your foot movement on the peddle. Feel free to comment back.
      Thanks.

    2. I’m having the same issue with these tires. I have a 2016 Malibu and the vibration around 70 mph is extremely noticeable (worse than the tires I just replaced) I’ve had them balanced twice since install (less than 5k miles on the tires) and the vibration does not go away.

      1. Really sorry to hear this Jerrica, we will research on this further. But can you share your experience with Uniroyal Tiger’s braking performance?

        1. I haven’t noticed any change in braking from my previous tires. Previous tires were Goodyear Eagle LS2 and I had no complaints of those tires other than the price tag. They lasted almost 80k miles and drove excellent.

    1. I have a set on a 2010 Mustang. Have been on the car for 9 years and approx. 80K miles and they will still pass a safety inspection. (Make sure they are rotated regularly.) They are now getting old, hard and losing traction so I will be replace very soon (end of the week) with another set of Tiger Paw GTZs.

  4. I have a 2016 Malibu and had 4 new tires installed.
    Uniroyal tiger paw 245/40ZR 19 98 w. M+S extra load.
.They make a loud humming noise on all highway driving.
    Is this normal ?
