Uniroyal Laredo All Season AWP Tire Review & Rating

Offering a balance of dependable all-season traction, car-like handling and a longer treadlife is what Uniroyal has strived to provide with the Laredo All Season AWP. Built for drivers of light trucks and SUV’s, the AWP utilizes the latest in tire technology.

An all-season tread compound and Uniroyal’s DuraShield Technology enhances traction while also increasing treadlife by promoting more even tread wear. Dry grip is solid on this model, and the tire’s deeper tread grooves and circumferential grooves expel water quickly and ensure that hydroplaning is avoided.

Uniroyal Laredo All Season AWP Tire Review

An aggressive tread design and sharp edged tread blocks work together to provide improved cornering, all season driving and they also keep the steering responsive as well. Furthermore an optimized tread casing design means that the tire, while built for SUV’s and light trucks, drive like a passenger car with extra comfort and lower road noise.

Sizes are available from 14-17 inches, and LT models come with either a C, D or E load range.

Pros

  • Consistent traction on both wet and dry roads
  • Strong and durable with even wear
  • Comfortable and quiet

Cons

  • Winter performance could be better
  • No mileage tread warranty

Overall Thoughts

While light trucks and SUV’s often have to sacrifice a certain amount of comfort for performance, this doesn’t seem to be an issue with this model from Uniroyal. The tires provide even and consistent traction on dry and wet road surfaces. Steering is responsive and delivers good feedback for the most part.

Winter handling could be improved on, but for lighter amounts of snow the tires do pretty well. The other area we would like to see addressed is the addition of a mileage tread warranty. Overall, the AWP is a nice option for SUV and pickup owners.
