Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring SR Tire Review & Rating

Uniroyal has a tradition for producing good quality tires at a fair price, which is what they have attempted to do with the Tiger Paw Touring SR. Built to fit coupes, sedans and minivans, the Touring SR offers all-season performance with a more comfortable ride.

An all-season tread compound and solid shoulder tread blocks contribute to increased year-round traction and handling, as well as added stability on the highway. Wide circumferential grooves help to get rid of water and offer an extra layer of traction and grip in wet conditions.

DuraShield construction in the tread makeup provides protection against shocks and vibrations on the road while increasing tread life. Also present is Uniroyal’s TrU-Form technology that spreads tread wear and driving stress across the tire’s contact patch which results in longer and more even wear.

Uniroyal includes a 70,000 mile tread warranty on the SR, and the tire is available in a 16 inch size.

Overall Thoughts

For basic all-season drivability in dry or wet conditions, the Touring SR stands with some of the better tires in its class. The tire feels stable on the highway at all speeds, and steering response is pretty good. Road noise is also minimal.

One area we would like to see improved on would be ride comfort. Rougher pavement, potholes and larger bumps can be a bit uncomfortable. Our other concern is with winter traction. While it’s adequate in light snow, deeper snow and ice may give you a few problems.

Overall, this is not a bad tire from Uniroyal. Its 70K mile warranty and lower price make it attractive for budget-minded drivers. We rank it in the middle of the entry level all-season class.

Warranty

Materials and workmanship are warranted for 6-years and include free replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given during the remaining time period or down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
