Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring DT Tire Review & Rating

The Tiger Paw Touring DT has been around long enough to become Uniroyal’s longest wearing and best handling tire the company has ever produced. It’s touring all-season traction and handling is suited for today’s coupes, sedans, minivans and other vehicles.

An all-season tread compound combines with Uniroyal TrU-Form technology to deliver more even tread wear by equalizing the stresses on the tire’s contact patch. The solid shoulder block design enhances dry and wet traction, as well as increasing cornering performance.

Four circumferential grooves effectively channel away water from under the tread on wet road surfaces. They also reduce the risk of hydroplaning and add more confidence when driving in rough weather. The tread is designed to also provide added grip on snow covered roads in the winter.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts to go with Uniroyal’s DuraShield construction. The results are added strength and durability. A polyester cord body increases ride comfort and gives the tire a smoother ride quality. A 70,000 mile tread warranty is included on this model.

Overall Thoughts

The Tiger Paw Touring DT is one of the most popular tires in the Uniroyal lineup. It’s been around a number of years now and offers predictable performance and good comfort. The ride on the highway is smooth and very quiet.

Handling in wet and dry conditions is very good. The only area that we see that could be improved upon would be winter handling. It’s adequate, just not great. Tread life is good on this model due in part to the higher 660 treadwear rating.

Overall, this is a mid-grade touring tire that provides good performance. We give it a rank in the middle of this class. Other models you may want to take a look at would be the Michelin Defender, Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring or the Cooper CS5 Grand Touring.

  1. Love the tires but extremely noisy great traction and excellent mileage as this is my 2nd set. This set is more noisy then the past set so I’m a little disappointed.

  2. I sold a guy some almost new Tiger Paws ( I decided to go up to wider tires) and he had 70k miles on them and still had good tread left. I was so impressed, I’m getting ready to buy a set of TP Touring for my 2013 Chrysler 200. I’ll let you know how they performed and wear, further down the road.
