Taskmaster Provider Entrada HT Tire Review & Rating

Our Taskmaster Provider Entrada HT Review

The Taskmaster Provider Entrada HT is part of Discount Tire’s budget tire offerings. It is intended to provide drivers of pickups and smaller SUV’s an affordable all-season tire option.

Just because the Entrada HT is a budget tire doesn’t mean this model lacks any performance on the road. It has been designed to deliver a more-than-acceptable degree of ride and noise comfort, wet and dry traction, and a longer lasting tread life.

Taskmaster Provider Entrada HT Tire Review

The Entrada HT’s tread pattern features tie bars between the center tread blocks along with closed shoulder ribs that are built to provide quicker steering response and added stability at highway speeds.

Taskmaster has added deep sipes around the tread to increase traction on wet pavement, as well as grip in snow and ice conditions. Wide circumferential grooves channel away rain water and reduce the risk of hydroplaning, while center ridge blocks further enhance snow traction capabilities.

An added benefit to the tire’s closed shoulder ribs is that it helps in eliminating excessive road noise, which in this case it does a decent job at. Twin steel belts inside the carcass add strength and durability to the tire. The Entrada HT is available in 15-17 inch sizes and carries a T-speed rating. A 40,000 mile tread life warranty is also included.

Pros

  • Well-rounded all-season traction and handling
  • Excellent ride comfort
  • Long lasting tread life
  • Attractive price for budget-conscious drivers

Cons

  • Boost winter traction on ice

Overall Thoughts

If you’re looking for a tire that offers a well-rounded set of all-season features while maintaining a budget-friendly price, the Entrada HT is a very respectable choice. When compared to similar budget tires, this model manages to provide a lengthy list of reasons why it’s a smart choice. It offers good traction in both wet and dry conditions as well as very respectable ride and noise comfort.

The only real thing you might want to look out for is the traction in deep snow and on ice. Make no mistake, this is by no means a “dedicated” winter tire. That said, it doesn’t pretend to be one either. You can expect decent handling in light snow and slush, but as it is with most every all-season tire, deep snow, freezing rain and ice can quickly become problematic.

Overall we have liked the Taskmaster line of trailer tires in the past, and this newer Entrada HT is a nice option for SUV and pickup owners that will definitely save you some money at the same time.

  1. Purchased a used truck with these tires on it. Seem to be ok, but do have a vibration if the vehicle sits for a long peiod which seems to work itself out – however, if you live anywhere which gets below freezing and has ANY ice or snow, these tires are the absolute worst I have ever seen in 35 years of driving. The compound stiffens up, and there is ZERO TRACTION. You will be extremely lucky if you don’t die in a horrible accident if you drive on ice or packed snow.

  2. Still having trouble keeping these tires balanced. They have been balanced 2 or 3 times since my last comment in November 2019. Only drive on highway NO offroad driving less than 15000 miles . Had balanced last month. Need balanced again. All components and alignments are up to date and NO issues.

  3. I have been buying these tires ( Entrada Providers ) for the last 8 or 9 years now. Great tires. Now in the last 1 year my tires have been separating from belts in tire. 6 months ago tire blew on freeway ar driving speed. 65mph. All said and done that tire cost me in repairs 1 fender, all the left front headlight and marker lights another tire that I had to pay 50.00 for. Total price for repairs about 450.00 bucks not excluding two days of missed work. Then last week I had another tire get a big bubble and the belts separated also. I love these tires but why all of a sudden they are separating from belts and blowing out

  4. Have these tires on my jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. They were exceptional up until I noticed they r wearing quickly and that I am experiencing high road noise like they are 4 wheel drive tires. Im running 38 lbs of pressure in them if I lower it it gets louder. I only have about 7 thousand moles on them

  5. Tires vibrate very bad. Discount tire has balanced 2 or 3 times . Worst tires I ever bought. On an 01 F150. Had some I bought after these on a 77 F100. Those were replaced. Had for 30 days balanced 3 times. Would not replace F150 tires. Didn’t drive truck much. Over 30 days. Said they are economy tires you should expect them to not perform as well.

  6. I purchased a set of these tires from the local discount tire store about 13 months ago and just at 11k miles on the tires and they are in need to be replaced very soon. I was told that they are at 5/32 right now. I’m very disappointed in the tread life. I think 11k miles and basically wore out in unsat.

  7. Bought these for my 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport, 6 speed two wheel drive. I’m happy I stayed true to my budget and bought all 4 at one time. They seem like they were made specifically for my Jeep because the improved performance is amazing over the tires they replaced. It handles more like a nimble car now when parking and backing up from parking spaces. Steering is very responsive and precise they just seem to glide fluidly on smooth roads and highways without noise or vibration, so you need to keep an eye on the speedometer because 75 is as quiet as 35. Shifting gears is easier because everything seems to be in sink as the rpms and shifts just match perfectly creating a noticeably smoother shifting acceleration experience. I don’t know how to say it but there is a continuity between, steering, shifting and acceleration that these tires create that is very satisfying. Also driving on bumpy dirt gravel roads feels a lot smoother overall, it’s like getting an upgraded suspension just by buying tires. Again I am very pleased, to be honest, I am overjoyed. If you are on a tight budget or just want to save money you won’t be disappointed with these.

    1. Upon looking into why I’m so impressed with my new tires I found an important point I should have made which is the new tires are 235/70R16 106T RBL replacing the original/recommended 225/75 tire size and better suited for off road use. So they are wider and shorter and will naturally produce the wow that I am experiencing. I am WoWed by my new set of tires no matter the details. This may help some people like me who wouldn’t know how this minor change can make your driving experience a lot more satisfying.

  8. Bought these tires for my 05 ford escape. So far seem great. They look good and very low road noise when driving. Surprisingly quiet for a truck tire. If you’re on a budget you can’t go wrong with these great low cost tires.

  9. i purchased this tire for my 2001 lexus rx300 and so far i am loving this tire. it rides so smooth yet confident. It soaks up roads bumps very good. Yes it had less thread life but i am fine with it. i got some additional discount. so i wanted to try this brand and as mentioned i love it. i will update if there is any negative that i may encounter.

    1. Hi Nick!
We’re happy to know you’ve had a great experience with the tire and hope that it continues. Let us know if you happen to find any negatives.

  10. I have the Entrada tires on my Dodge Ram and they are perfect….especially in the rain! I couldn’t ask for a better tire and it’s at a great price!!

  11. I bought them for my Ford Explorer PVD / ENTRADA HT 235 75 R15 and love them they have no noise and ride as good as the michelins I replaced.

  12. i bought two prvider tires for the front of my durango, , they are driving me crazy these are the noisiest tire i have ever owned , they have problem in production as this must be a ply to carcass alignment problem as if you put a little right steering in the noise dissapears

    1. suggest you check the alignment for the front tires. , if your problem goes away when you use a little right steering, then it snt the tire, its the alignment..

    2. I’m really sorry to hear that you had to go through this, but this is the first time I’m reading something like this about these tires. Did you get them checked by a technician?
