Sumitomo HTR Enhance C/X Tire Review & Rating
The Sumitomo HTR Enhance C/X is an all-season, performance touring tire that aims to give you superior traction and even tread wear throughout the year in different weather conditions. Built for a wide range of SUV, minivan and Crossover owners, this tire provides a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride.
A combination of Sumitomo’s advanced all-season tread compound and a 5-rib asymmetric tread pattern result in added dry traction and handling capabilities. The tires’ notched center rib and wider outside shoulder blocks increase cornering grip and stability at higher speeds, which is a plus for this tire.
Sumitomo has included wider circumferential grooves and added sipes on the tread blocks which provide for increased traction on wet pavement, as well as on snow and ice. However, winter performance is not the strongest point for the Enhance C/X.
Every HTR Enhance C/X tire is engineered to deliver a quiet and smoother ride due in part to the five-pitch tread block sequence that lowers the road noise, while a multi-steel belt, jointless nylon cap ply increases their strength and provides for smooth handling.
Sumitomo offers a wide number of 15-19 inch sizes, with T, H, V and W-speed ratings. A 60k mile tread life warranty is provided on all T, H or V rated tires.

Overall Thoughts
The Sumitomo HTR Enhance C/X tire is an affordable, stylish and relatively new addition to the Sumitomo range of crossover and SUV all-season tires. It’s a tire that doesn’t do anything particularly outstanding, but it also does nothing so poorly as to cause us to not recommend it. Other driver reviews have mentioned having some of the same feelings in this regard.
On the positive side, HTR Enhance C/X tires provide excellent traction in dry conditions. Quieter and smoother than most stock tires, they handle and corner well and also enhance the appearance of any vehicle they are installed on.
On the negative side, this model can struggle in deep snow and other slippery surfaces. They are designed to have a longer tread life and even tread wear, but this is not always the case as some have had treadlife issues.
Overall, we feel the Sumitomo HTR Enhance C/X tire is a mid-pack model in its class with performance that falls short of other top tires like the Michelin Premier LTX or Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus among others.

Warranty
Sumitomo provides a 5-year or 60,000 mile tread warranty on T, H and V-speed rated sizes of the Enhance C/X. Tire uniformity is warranted for the first 1/32 inch of wear.
Materials and workmanship are guaranteed for 6-years and include free replacement during those 6 years or down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth. A one-year or first 2/32 inch of treadwear road hazard warranty is also provided.
