Sears Roadhandler Sport Tire Review & Rating

Sears has recently added the RoadHandler Sport to their re-released Road Handler lineup. Built for drivers of sport coupes and sedans, this ultra-high performance tire features all-season traction, enhanced cornering grip and a more comfortable ride quality.

A unique hybrid tread compound combined with an asymmetric tread pattern is designed to increase grip on dry or wet pavement, as well as reduce rolling resistance for better overall fuel efficiency.

Sears has utilized 3-D vibration control technology along with rounded groove edges on the Roadhandler Sport that gives the tire more contact with the road surface, thereby reducing road noise, increasing brake performance and eliminating many of the road vibrations you so often feel when driving.

Four wide circumferential grooves are optimized to increase wet road performance and reduce the risk of hydroplaning, something this tire does very well.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts for added strength and durability, as well as a high hardness bead filler for increased steering response. An innovative belt edge tape is also used on this model that adds more stability to the tire throughout the speed range. Sears includes a 50,000 mile tread guarantee on the Roadhandler Sport, and the tire comes in various 16 – 18 inch sizes with W or Y speed ratings.

Pros

  • Dry and wet traction
  • Cornering grip
  • Ride comfort

Cons

  • Winter handling

Overall Thoughts

Sears has had much success over the years with their Roadhandler lineup, and this newly released Sport model should follow in those footsteps. Although not in the same league as the Michelin Pilot Sport AS or Continental ExtremeContact DWS among others, this is still a very good overall high performance tire.
