Maxxis Bravo Series AT-771 Tire Review

Maxxis has engineered this model to help your rig perform at a higher level when you’re driving on the street or highway. Its four U-shaped circumferential grooves further wet traction and reduce the risks of hydroplaning. The tires’ added sipes enhance braking performance, as well as assist with grip on snow.

A jointless spirally-wound cap ply results in a smoother, stable ride, while also adding more strength to the tire. Maxxis offers 15-20 inch LT and non-LT sizes, with an S and T-speed rating. LT sizes come with either a C, D or E load range rating. A 50K mile warranty is provided by Maxxis on this model.

Pros

  • Good wet and dry road traction, grip and handling
  • Capable traction in most off-road terrain

Cons

  • Struggles in mud and deep snow
  • Soften the ride just a bit

Overall Thoughts

The Maxxis Bravo Series AT-771 is an affordable, mildly-aggressive looking all-terrain tire that many light truck and SUV owners have described as dependable and good value for money.

While this tire is not going to be confused with a BFGoodrich T/A KO2, performance off-road on most terrain is not bad. It handles dirt, gravel, sand and rock very well. But in mud and snow, traction is not that great. Most of that can be attributed to the tightly spaced lugs. They pack up quickly and leave you needing traction.

Those same tightly spaced tread elements are the big reason why this model performs so well on the street. Traction and cornering grip are among the better AT tires you’ll find. Treadlife has been good, which is an area we’ve heard good reviews from other drivers as well.

Overall, if you want a durable, long lasting A/T tire for your light truck or SUV that won’t cost the moon and the stars, the Maxxis Bravo Series AT-771 is one of the better options available. It stands up to most off-road challenges and is more than capable of performing to a high standard and keeping you safe when you driving on the road.
