Kenda Klever R/T KR601 Tire Review & Rating

New in 2018, the Kenda Klever R/T KR601 is the company’s latest all-terrain tire that is built to provide increased performance and durability. Designed for light trucks and SUV’s, the Klever R/T (Rough Terrain) is a model that fits between an AT and MT tire. Kenda advertises it as an extreme all-terrain tire.

Kenda uses a tougher cut and chip resistant all-weather tread compound to go with their unique T3 Triple Threat sidewall design. According to Kenda, this new sidewall will allow the tire to tackle rough terrain without having to give up on ride and comfort quality.

Upper sidewall tread blocks help with traction in deeper mud, as well as gravel and sand. In addition, Kenda engineers have added their focus on snow performance with this tire. The all-weather compound shines in winter conditions. They have also pinned the tread for adding studs if you need the extra traction in severe conditions.

A total of 19 sizes will be initially released later in 2018 ranging from LT235/80R17 to 35×12.50R22LT.

Kenda is creating this model to compete against the BFG KO2, Toyo R/T and Cooper ST Maxx. That’s a tall order for any tiremaker and it remains to be seen whether they will accomplish their goals. We will have a full review on the Kenda R/T KR601 as soon as it becomes available.
