Hankook Ventus V2 Concept H437 Tire Review & Rating
Hankook has taken the latest in tire technology in an attempt to give the Ventus V2 Concept H437 all-season handling and performance that is comparable to tires costing much more. Designed for all types of coupes, sedans and other vehicles, the H437 sports an attractive directional tread pattern with a tread compound that is M+S rated.
Dry surface traction and cornering grip are enhanced through its tread design that adds an emphasis on lateral stiffness and straight line stability. Not only does this design improve tire performance, but it also reduces irregular tread wear for a longer lifespan.
Wet road handling is aided through Hankook’s Twister System tread pattern which optimizes traction on rainy road surfaces and reduces the risk of hydroplaning. Added sipes provide more biting edges on both rain and snow covered surfaces as well.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts with spirally wrapped nylon that give the tire added strength and durability throughout the speed range. They also help in giving the H437 a longer tread life. Hankook has also included a reinforced rim guard for keeping your custom wheels from being damaged.
Pros
- All-season handling and traction is excellent
- Above average steering response and brake performance
- Ride comfort is among the best in this class
- Long lasting tread life
- Outstanding performance and value for the money
Cons
- Would like to see a bit more cornering power
- Snow and ice traction
Overall Thoughts
The H437 was a nice surprise for us. The all-season tread design not only performs well in all types of weather, including light snow, but it is also very quiet and comfortable. Naturally, deeper snow, ice and slush has proven to be more of an issue with this model.
Overall, this Hankook tire is a not a bad choice for drivers on a tighter budget. That said, it ranks well down the list of high-performance all-season tires.
