The Goodyear Ultra Grip Winter tire is designed to give you the grip, handling and traction that’s essential when you drive in severe winter conditions. Suitable for a wide range of minivans, coupes, sedans and smaller crossovers, the Ultra Grip Winter is built to take you through snow, ice, rain, freezing rain, hard-pack and other rough weather around town or on the highway without issues.

Winter traction and hydroplaning resistance are enhanced, thanks to this studdable tire’s directional tread pattern and numerous biting edges. Wider tread grooves further reduce the likelihood of problems occurring when it’s wet or snowing, by pushing away any excess water or slush that could affect your driving performance.

Branded with the three-peak mountain/snowflake emblem, the Ultra Grip Winter is also designed for adding #12 metal studs if you need them on deeper ice and hard-pack. The tire’s sturdy shoulder blocks and deeper tread increase treadlife.

Goodyear offers a range of 14 to 19-inch sizes, and all sizes features a T-speed rating. A limited tread warranty is included as well.

Although arguably not up to the level of performance of the newer General Altimax Arctic 12, the Ultra Grip Winter does a solid job at getting you through the winter months, whether with studs or without. We’ve heard drivers mention time after time of how this tire adds a level of confidence when driving in deep snow or on hard-pack and ice-covered pavement.

Naturally, not everything is perfect on this model. You may notice a little extra noise from this tire on dry pavement, although it is not excessive in our opinion. In addition, the softer sidewalls are noticeable during harder cornering situations.
