Firestone Firehawk GTA 03 Tire Review & Rating
Firestone has utilized their years of racing experience into creating the Firehawk GTA 03 high performance all-season tire. This model is aimed towards drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans.
A host of onboard technology ensures that performance and stability are the two selling points of the Firestone GTA 03’s and they are often used as original equipment. An asymmetrical tread pattern with larger tread blocks provide enhanced dry performance and grip while the smaller tread on the inner shoulder is supposed to help with traction and handling in snow and wet conditions.
The large outside blocks increase cornering performance and add stability. Inside the tire are dual steel belts for added strength. Firestone provides a 40,000 mile warranty as well.

Overall Thoughts
We’ll say right upfront that Firestone is well known for making some very good tires, but not in this case. We had high expectations for this Firestone model, but unfortunately its performance leaves a lot to be desired. The only area we can really say this tire does do fairly well is with its dry traction and cornering grip, but even that is lacking far behind the leaders in this category.
Wet traction needs improvement and grip on snow and ice is nearly non-existent. Review after review from other drivers confirms the same things. In addition, you’ll find the GTA 03 to be noisy on the road. Treadlife is another huge disappointment.
While they are often used as original equipment, we do not recommend buying this tire as a replacement. Tires such as the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3, Cooper Zeon RS3-A and BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 A/S among many others all perform much better.

Firestone provides a 5-year or 40,000 mile tread warranty on the GTA 03. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first 1/32 inch of wear.
Materials and workmanship are warranted for 5-years and include free replacement during the first 3 years. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time period or down to the final 2/32 inch tread depth. You will also receive Firestone’s exclusive 30-day buy and try guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied you can refund or exchange the tires.
