Firestone Destination ST Tire Review & Rating
The Firestone Destination ST offers all-season traction and handling along with a smooth and comfortable ride for drivers of all types of sporty trucks, crossovers and SUV’s. With its attractive and bold tread design, the ST uses the latest in Firestone’s tire technology for added performance and durability.
An all-season tread compound and an asymmetrical tread pattern increase dry pavement handling and steering response. Larger tread elements further add to better overall handling.
The tire’s circumferential groove is offset and combines with open shoulder slots to expel water away from the tire and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. Angled criss-cross grooves provide added traction and bite on wet or snow covered roads. Driving on this tire in snow inspires confidence, which is an area that many drivers have also mentioned in various reviews.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are nylon reinforced for added strength and durability throughout the speed range. A polyester cord body further enhances ride comfort. Firestone has 17-22 inch sizes available on the ST, and includes a 40,000 mile tread guarantee.
- Outstanding dry, wet and snow traction
- Riding comfort is exceptional
- Quiet riding tire
- Treadlife is good and carries a 40,000 mile warranty
- Would like to see just a little extra cornering performance
The Destination ST follows in the same line of solid performing Firestone truck/SUV tires like the A/T, LE2 and other models. You can expect outstanding traction and grip on dry, wet and snow covered road surfaces, as well as on ice. Braking and acceleration performance is solid and inspires confidence. We would like to see a little more cornering power, but it’s more than adequate for most every driver. We just tend to like to push the limits.
Riding on this tire is a pleasure. It’s comfortable and you won’t find much of any outside road noise whether you are driving in town or at highway speeds. Treadlife is good, and many reviews from other drivers mention this as well.
Overall, this tire simply provides good value for the money. We rank it in the top portion of the street/sport all-season class.
