Falken Sincera SN201 Review

Passenger all-season touring tires are the first choice for most small and medium sized vehicle owners. Featuring comfortable ride and long-lasting tread life, they combine smooth highway driving with capable wet and dry handling. Falken Sincera SN201 tires have been designed to exceed the expectations drivers have of standard touring all-season tires. Featuring unidirectional tread molded for long lasting life and a smooth, comfortable ride. As one of the market leaders in innovation, many have been used when building this high quality, all-season touring tire.

Passenger car owners need a tire which doesn’t require frequent replacing, doesn’t create a lot of road noise and provides a comfortable ride. SN201 tires use a blend of construction technique and rubber technology to provide a touring style all-season tire. Falken aimed to make this tire an accessible touring style tire for owners of smaller cars and provide great value. As an all-season tire, there are tread design features to handle wet, dry and some snowy weather. It also features solid rib treads to provide consistent and confident handling. A high density of small grooves in the tread, called sipes, give the tires added traction in the cold and in light snow. Designed to last, Falken backs Sincera SN201 tires with a 65,000 mile warranty.

Pros:

  • Quiet, comfortable touring ride.
  • Long lasting tread life.
  • Reduced roll resistance for improved mileage.

Cons:

  • Winter traction in deep snow is marginal.

Performance

Introduced in the beginning of 2017, the Sincera SN201 are a fresh new product from Falken tires. Designed with passenger car touring in mind, they’ve been designed to go beyond the expectations drivers have with touring all-season tires. An asymmetrical tread pattern works to provide stability at highway speed. A solid center rib features at the center of the pattern. It works to keep tire traction during turns and aggressive handling. Dynamic Range Technology is an exclusive Falken silica compound which is designed to stay flexible in a range of temperatures. It should provide improved stopping power, reducing braking distance, on wet and dry roads

Another advantage to the asymmetrical tread design could be a reduction in rolling resistance. While it doesn’t mean the tires have less traction, it does mean there is less friction during forward motion. The result should be an easier to move tire, which can make your car work less. Fuel mileage and lower road noise while driving can both be benefits. Tread is designed to resist wear by using cross rotational patters. These should keep the tires from forming warps or bumps on the surface as they age. Uneven wear like this can seriously affect the ride quality and prematurely end the life of the tire. By maintaining an even wear, Sincera SN201 tires should maintain ride and traction quality as their tread wears.

Dynamic Range Technology also helps the rubber keep grip in the wet. Large grooves run the perimeter of the tire, flanked by large tread blocks. There are four channels on the tire, each work to whisk water out from under the tire. Maintaining rubber contact with the road in wet conditions is important to maintaining traction. It also helps to resist hydroplaning; where the tire loses contact with the road. Added grip comes from a high density of small slit like grooves in the tread block. Called sipes, these act like little squeeze grips to grab the road. They should provide good all-season traction, wet or dry.

These small slits also help the tires keep traction in light snow. Sincera SN201 tires have several innovations which could provide good snow traction. Large, teeth like angles have been molded into the tread pattern. They can improve traction in deep snow conditions by helping create more points of contact. They work like teeth, packing and grabbing at the snow. The exclusive silica compound stays flexible in the cold, keeping the rubber from getting too hard to grip the road.
