Overview

Falken Azenis RT615K+ is a successor to the original championship-winning tire variant, the Azenis RT615K. It’s specially designed for high-performance sports vehicles that require optimum grip in dry, wet and warm conditions.

Its asymmetric tread pattern is inspired by motorsports and features the brand’s all new extreme-performance compound designed for summers. This nanotech technology ensures increased performance and additional traction on dry roads. 

Even better, its large shoulder blocks provide tremendous lateral traction while cornering and the solid center rib produces more power due to constant tire to ground contact. The inner circumferential grooves combined with notched tread blocks speed-up water evacuation from the tire’s contact patch, thereby enhancing wet grip and aquaplaning resistance. 

With a speed rating of W (270 km/h) and sizes that range from 14” to 18”, the Azenis RT615K+ is built with an improved tension casing for drivers who require better handling and stability in high-speeds. While the tire produces some noise due to high levels of traction, it is well suited for dry roads.

Despite its impressive build, the Falken Azenis RT615K+ does fall behind due to its reduced comfort and a higher noise level, especially in comparison to other high-performance touring tires. 

Additionally, with its high adhesiveness to the road, it is bound to wear out faster than other on-road tires. Further, it is fundamentally a summer tire and as such, is not suited for use on snow or ice in sub-zero temperatures as the cold can cause compound cracking.

It’s also important to note here that extreme performance summer tires, like the Azenis RT615K+, should be allowed to slowly return to temperatures of at least 40° Fahrenheit before they are flexed, if in case they have exposed to 20° Fahrenheit or more. 

Overall, it’s a good model in this price range, considering its extreme level of traction on race tracks and normal roads with a formidable grip in damp and wet conditions as well. 

As such, the Falken Azenis RT615K+ is comparatively reasonable than similar variants like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport or the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R.
