Duck Commander A/T Tire Review & Rating

The Duck Commander A/T, based off the hit TV reality series Duck Dynasty, is designed to deliver dependable off-road performance while maintaining a civilized ride quality on the street. Built by Cooper Tire, the Duck Commander All Terrain is made to fit all types of trucks, SUV’s, jeeps and other 4×4’s.

A tougher and more durable rubber tread compound is matched up to an aggressive tread pattern that is built to provide reliable traction off the beaten path. In that regard this model performs very well in moderate off road terrain. Dirt, sand and gravel are no problem for this tire.

Duck Commander A/T Tire Review

The Duck Commander AT has been optimized for grip on mud and snow, although the smaller tread voids make it more difficult to gain traction in deeper amounts of mud. They simply can’t clean themselves as well as other top models.

On the highway you can expect to find a surprisingly smooth and quiet ride due in part to the tread pattern. Added sipes further enhance wet traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning.

Tread depth on this tire is 13/32, which comes backed with a 50K mile tread warranty. Sizes ranging from 15-20 inches are available in both LT and non-LT models. LT sizes sport either a D or E-load range.

Pros

  • Solid performance in light to moderate off-road conditions
  • Very good dry and wet traction
  • Ride is comfortable and road noise is minimal
  • 50K mile tread warranty

Cons

  • Not designed for deep mud or rock climbing

Overall Thoughts

Whether you’re a fan of the series or not, the Duck Commander AT offers good performance for a fair price. Unless you’re looking to use this tire for serious rock climbing or driving through deep mud on a regular basis, this model is not bad at all.

The ride is quieter than expected and the ride is not as rough as you might find on many all-terrain tires. Tread life has shown to be better than average at this stage. We’ve heard many drivers say the same in reviews as well.

Overall we feel this tire is a mid to upper model in the AT class.

  1. These tires are terrible. Mine don’t even have 20,000 on them and they need replaced. They were originally quiet but now at the end of their life they’re horribly noisy. The grip is horrible too. Not a good tire if you plan on doing any type of off road driving. The only plus side to them is they’re cheap. Other than that avoid this tire.
