Cooper Discoverer HT3 Tire Review & Rating

The Cooper Discoverer HT3 commercial-grade all-season tire is designed to provide dependable year-round traction, a quiet ride quality and longer treadlife. Built for all types of commercial vans, trucks and pickups, the HT3 has quickly become one of the best-selling tires in its class.

Cooper’s silica-infused tread compound is designed to increase traction and handling on dry and wet road surfaces while enhancing treadwear as well. Added interlocking tread elements and lateral slots further add to handling capabilities and give this tire a confident, sure-footed feel to it.

The Cooper HT3 uses 3-D micro-gauge sipes in the tread to go with circumferential grooves for added performance on wet pavement, in addition to snow and ice. While not built to be a winter tire it does offer decent traction on the white stuff.

The tire’s continuous shoulder ribs help give this model a quiet ride quality and improved treadlife. Cooper offers sizes ranging from 15-18 inches, and there is also a 50K mile tread warranty included.

Overall Thoughts

As a premium commercial all-season tire, the HT3 is easily among the better tires in this class. It delivers solid performance when it comes to dry and wet traction, handling and ride comfort. We’ve heard others mention how quiet the ride is and how smooth running this tire is.

While it handles lighter amounts of snow nicely, when it starts really piling up, performance starts falling down. However, this is typical of most any all-season tire.

Overall, the HT3 is an excellent tire that provides the type of traction and handling you look for in a commercial type tire, and the treadlife is longer lasting than many others. We feel it stands as one of the best tires in this class. Highly recommended.
