Cooper CS4 Touring Tire Review & Rating

Cooper’s most popular touring all-season tire, the CS4 Touring, combines year round traction and handling with the ride quality you would expect on this type of tire. Engineered for drivers of all types of coupes, sedans, minivans and luxury SUV’s, Cooper has incorporated the latest in tire technology in this model.

Dry traction and stability are enhanced through R-Tech (Response Technology) construction that improves handling and steering response, as well as creating a more rigid tread. Five circumferential ribs add stability on both dry and wet road surfaces.

The silica tread compound on the CS4 Touring provides better wet pavement handling, while the unique aqua-channels evacuate more water from under the tire and reduce the risk of hydroplaning.

Inside the tire you’ll find twin steel belts and variable density nylon belts that promote more even tread wear and additional durability at higher speeds. Cooper also includes a 60,000 mile tread warranty as well.

We rank the Cooper CS4 in the upper half of this class as far as as all-season touring tires go. You can expect to find very good traction on dry or wet roads, with responsive steering and stability as well. The only real area where you might find an issue with is in winter handling. It doesn’t perform quite as well as a few other competitor tires when conditions turn to deeper snow and ice.

Ride comfort is impressive on the CS-4 and it is also a very quiet riding tire. Tread life is longer lasting than many other touring tires, making this a good overall value.

The CS4 comes with a 5-year or 60,000 mile tread life warranty. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first 2/32 inch of wear.

Materials and workmanship are covered for 5 years. You will also find a 45-day road test guarantee on this model as well. Cooper will exchange the tire for another brand if you are not 100% satisfied with the tire.
