The Contender TTT868 trailer tire is a dependable, strong and durable tire that is built to handle the rigors of heavier trailers/loads. 1. I bought for my 5000lb 30 ft Travel Trailer. I have only towed about 1500 miles with time that’s enougth to sse that they are unremarkable, which is a compliment. I’ve been in 95F heat and long stretches of Interstate, mountains and city traffic and dirt roads. Held up, rides smooth as can be from what I can tell, don’t side slide and don’t seem easy to lockup, including on wet roads and (breaking even in ) curves. track well. I slung the trailer around in a huge wet asphalt parking lot and actuated trailer breaks and it was just really well behaved.
All I could ask for a great price.

  2. I’ve had really good luck with these tires on my 18′ car trailer and on my 33′ camper. I will buy em again when I need new tires. There is a trailer place close to me so I just buy them already on the wheels and ready to go.

  3. I bought 5 Contender TTT868 ST235/85R16 (load range E) tires for my 15,500 GVWR Fifth Wheel RV trailer. I’ve had THREE of the five tires fail with an inner sidewall blowout causing over $600 in damage to my RV and the inconvenience of changing the tires on the shoulder of busy highways, having them replaced, and the work to fix the damage the blowouts caused.

The failure appears to be a manufacture’s defect because all three tires (three different positions on the trailer) blew out a square hole on the inner sidewall. I’ve weighed my rig and everything is balanced like it should be, and I’m about 2,500 lbs UNDER the GVWR.

I bought this brand because they received good reviews for their price range and they were available at Discount Tire, so any maintenance would be available nationwide.

I will NOT be purchasing this brand again.

  4. Discount tire replace two of Goodyear’s best on my toy hauler under a road hazard insurance policy. I researched the tire they have great bragging rights.$40 difference between the Goodyear and these so I’m simply hoping for the best.discount tire has a policy that if you don’t like the tire bring it back and I’ll replace it for a different flavor. Hopefully things were quite well.
