Bridgestone Turanza ER30 Tire Review & Rating
Designed for use on today’s sports cars and sedans, the Bridgestone Turanza ER30 combines attractive tread styling with functional performance. Used as original equipment on vehicles like the BMW 325i, Mazda Miata and Porsche Cayenne among others, this model is built to enhance summer touring tire performance
A symmetric tread design with large rectangular tread blocks provide traction on dry and wet road surfaces with responsive steering and handling. Indeed, this is further reinforced with lateral and circumferential tread grooves to avoid hydroplaning and provide increased wet grip.
Bridgestone utilizes twin steel belts that are secured with spiral wrapped nylon and a polyester cord body to add more strength and durability to the tread. This also helps increase handling capabilities at higher speeds.
The ER30 is available in a range of 16 to 19 inch sizes and V, W or Y-speed ratings. Because this is a summer tire, driving in cold temperatures or on snow and ice is not advised.
- Very good dry and wet traction
- Excellent cornering and stability at higher speeds
- Better than average ride comfort
- Not for winter use
The Turanza ER30 from Birdgestone provides a pleasurable summer driving experience. Expect to find dependable dry and wet traction with quicker steering response as well. Cornering grip is very good with the ER30, and this model brakes and accelerates as good as any other tire in this class.
Handling on wet pavement is very good and the tires will not slide around on you unless you push it well beyond its limits. Ride comfort is yet another strong point on this tire.
On the other hand, treadlife has been an issue for most drivers. The 140 UTQG rating bemoans the fact that you’re not going to get too many seasons of use before replacement becomes necessary. Also, don’t even think about driving on this model when temps drop below 40 degrees. It doesn’t like the cold weather.
Overall, this is a very good tire that ranks among the top models in the summer touring performance class.
