Bridgestone Turanza ER300 Tire Review & Rating

The Turanza ER300 is Bridgestone’s summer touring tire that is used as original equipment on various Mercedes-Benz sedans, as well as being a replacement tire on coupes, sedans and other vehicles. With its lower rolling resistance and environmentally friendly design, the ER300 is developed to increase fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.

A silica-based summer tread compound is matched up with an asymmetric tread pattern and larger outside tread blocks that deliver increased dry and wet traction, as well as enhanced cornering grip. The continuous center rib adds stability and gives added steering response throughout the speed range.

Four circumferential grooves and unique lateral grooves provide improved handling on wet road surfaces, while also reducing the risk of hydroplaning. That said, the ER300 does a good job at providing traction in the rain.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are reinforced with an aramid and nylon wrap for added strength and stability at higher speeds. A polyester cord body adds to ride comfort and promotes more even tread wear. Bridgestone offers 16-19 inch sizes on this model to go with H, V, W and Y-speed ratings.

Pros

  • Excellent dry and wet traction
  • Above average cornering grip and steering response
  • Comfortable ride
  • Good tread life

Cons

  • Not for use in winter weather
  • No mileage warranty

Overall Thoughts

Although this Bridgestone ER300 is mainly used as original equipment, it is also often used as a replacement tire on various coupes and sedans. You can expect excellent traction on both dry and wet road surfaces. The steering is predictable and cornering is pretty good for a touring tire like this.

Ride quality is very good, which you would expect for a tire that is OE on a Mercedes, and you don’t hear a lot of outside road noise driving down the highway. Treadlife is above average, which is backed up on many driver reviews and ratings. The only thing we would like to see is a tread mileage guarantee.

Overall, we like the ER300 for what it does well and give it a rank in the middle of its class.
