Bridgestone Potenza RE070 Review & Rating

Designed to deliver the ultimate in traction and cornering grip, the Bridgestone Potenza RE070 is used primarily as original equipment on sports cars like the Honda S2000 CR, Subaru Impreza WRX STI and other vehicles.

Created to be used in the summer months, the tires have a high-grip and solid tread compound molded into a consistent asymmetric tread design for great wet and dry traction on a variety of road surfaces.

Bridgestone Potenza RE070 Tire Review

Steering response on these tires is as good as you would expect from a performance tire and this is aided by the semi-slick outboard shoulder blocks and continuous inboard ribs which also help with cornering grip.

With an emphasis on durability, the tires also have twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon that decrease tread wear and create a consistent driving experience.

Pros

  • Solid performance in dry conditions
  • Excellent steering response
  • Cornering grip is nothing short of amazing
  • Decent tread life

Cons

  • Noisy at times

Overall Thoughts

A tire that performs equally as well on the street as it does on the track. They perform best on dry roads, however they are ok on wet surfaces as well. Cold weather and any type of winter conditions are out of the question on this model of course.

With its lightning fast steering response this tire provides excellent feedback. Cornering grip is like glue. Expect a little road noise, especially at the tire begins wearing down, but that can be expected and it’s not as bad as a few other high end tires.

Overall, the real emphasis with the Bridgestone Potenza RE070 is performance and while in some aspects this comes at the expense of comfort, we can’t deny that they perform very well. That said, there are a few other tires that rank higher in this class.
