Bridgestone Dueler H/T D840 Tire Review & Rating
The Bridgestone Dueler H/T D840 is widely used as original equipment on a variety of light pickups, vans, crossovers and SUV’s. Engineered to provide year-round traction and handling, the D840 is also one of the more quiet riding tires in the highway all-season class.
An all-season tread compound and computer optimized tread design feature a more rounded casing profile that gives the tire a smooth and comfortable overall ride quality. You’ll immediately notice how quiet the ride is on this tire, which is due in part to the tread design.
The tire’s continuous center rib and grooved shoulders add cornering stability and enhance braking and acceleration performance.
Circumferential grooves and added notched grooves around the tread enhance wet surface traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. These notched grooves also increase handling in light snow, although winter performance is not a real strength of this tire.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts with a polyester cord body that provide added strength and durability, as well as improved ride comfort. Bridgestone offers 16-18 inch sizes on the D840, and includes a limited tread warranty.

Overall Thoughts
As a highway all-season light truck tire, the D840 delivers solid traction on dry road surfaces. Cornering is stable, as is braking and acceleration. Wet traction is good, not great, on this tire. Winter performance is an area that we would like to see improvement in, especially on ice during braking and acceleration.
We give credit to Bridgestone for making this one of the more quiet tires in this class. The ride is comfortable, and this model offers good treadwear for the most part.
Overall, the Dueler D840 is a competent middle of the pack performing tire.
