Bridgestone Potenza S-02A Tire Review & Rating
The Bridgestone Potenza S-02A is a summer tire that is designed to provide maximum performance on a range of high-end sports cars including Ferrari and Porsche vehicles. While not meant to be used in the winter months or on poor road conditions the tires are well equipped to deal with wet and dry summer driving.
They come with what is known as Bridgestone’s UNI-T (Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology) that uses a range of innovative design methods to create an all-round robust and smartly made tire.
The tires feature a high-grip tread compound that has been molded into a directional tread design to offer solid traction and stability while on the road. This is further enhanced via notched intermediate ribs as well as a continuous center rib which provides an enhanced all-round driving experience.
To deal with water the tires have lateral tread notches combined with circumferential grooves to provide superior traction in wet conditions. Further more they are assured durability with twin steel belts that have been reinforced by a spirally wrapped cap ply. The S-02A is available in 16 to 18 inch sizes.

Overall Thoughts
The S-02A provides exceptional traction on wet and dry road surfaces. That is what this tire does so well. That and deliver very good cornering grip. It’s one of the big reasons why this tire has been used as original equipment on models from Ferrari and Porsche.
Beyond that, the ride is pretty comfortable for the most part on smoother pavement. Noise is minimal, but perhaps a bit higher than on similar tires. One of the biggest complaints is the lower treadlife, but it’s an area that can pretty much be expected.
Overall, if you need a tire for max performance driving in the summer months then the Bridgestone Potenza S-02A is an ok choice, however, we would rate other tires like the Michelin Super Sport and Continental DW well ahead in this class. You might also want to go with Bridgestone’s S-04 Pole Position as well.

Bridgestone provides a limited tread warranty on the Potenza S-02A. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first 1/32 inch of wear. Materials and workmanship are warranted for 5-years and include free replacement during the first 3-years. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time period or down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
