Bridgestone Potenza RE92 Tire Review & Rating
The Potenza RE92 from Bridgestone is designed to provide high performance all-season traction and handling to go with a smoother and more comfortable ride. The RE92 has been used as original equipment on vehicles such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Insight and Lexus IS250 among many others, as well as being available as a replacement tire.
An all-season tread compound combines with asymmetric tread pattern that has been computer optimized to lower road noise and enhance ride comfort. The tire’s triangulated and interlocking blocks provide increased dry pavement traction, while hard rubber stiffeners in the sidewall add to cornering grip.
Circumferential grooves evacuate water from under the tire on wet roads and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. The tread is also designed to provide traction on light snow covered streets and highways, which you can read more about in our overall thoughts on this tire.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are nylon reinforced for added strength and durability at higher speeds. A polyester cord body further enhances ride comfort and delivers a smoother ride quality. Sizes are available from 14-17 inches, and Bridgestone includes a 40,000 mile tread guarantee.

Overall Thoughts
The RE92 gets its popularity based on the fact it is used as original equipment on many different makes and models of coupes and sedans. That said, it doesn’t mean that its performance on the road is equally as impressive. We like this model for its dry traction performance and cornering grip. Steering is pretty quick and over all ride comfort is not bad.
On the flip side, this tire is a poor performer when winter rolls around. Don’t expect to be impressed with its winter handling capabilities, which is evidenced by numerous driver reviews and ratings. Handling on wet streets and roads could be a little better as well, and treadlife may disappoint some drivers.
