BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO Tire Review & Rating

The All-Terrain T/A KO from BFGoodrich is engineered to deliver maximum on and off road performance for drivers of all types of pickups and SUV’s. As one of the most popular AT tires on the market, the TA KO sports the latest in tire technology to go with its rugged good looks and long lasting treadlife.

A tough all-terrain tread compound sports an aggressive tread pattern and utilizes BFGoodrich’s Shoulder Lock technology. This provides 40% wider shoulder grooves that increase traction and stability when the tires are aired down for use on rock and other terrain.

BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO Tire Review

The tire’s high-void tread design features interlocking tread elements that deliver enhanced off-road performance. Tread life is lengthened due in part to added stress distribution through out the tire, which also promotes more even tread wear.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts and exclusive BF Goodrich Tri-Gard construction. This construction includes a 3-ply polyester cord sidewall that adds strength against punctures and bruises. A wheel rim protector is molded into the sidewall to protect your wheels from accidental damage. Sizes are available from 15-22 inches, and BFG includes a limited tread guarantee on this model.

Pros

  • Excellent on and off-road performance
  • Handles well on rock, gravel, dirt, mud, sand and snow
  • Steering is responsive
  • Comfortable riding tire for an AT model
  • Outstanding treadlife

Cons

  • Wet traction could be just a little better

Overall Thoughts

The BFG T/A KO ranks up there with the likes of the Firestone Destination A/T and Michelin LTX A/T2. Yes, it’s that good of an all-terrain tire. Performance on all types of terrain is exceptional. Airing down the tires gives them excellent rock climbing capabilities, as well as increased performance in deeper sand and dirt. The steering is responsive and provides good feel.

The only area we could pick at would be wet handling, but even there it is not a huge issue. Seriously, you already know to take it a bit easy on the accelerator or brake when roads are wet. Another area that impressed us was the ride comfort you’ll find on this tire. There’s a little road noise, but nothing like you often get on some AT tires. Treadlife has been excellent, which is something we often hear from other driver reviews of this model.

Overall, the T/A KO is simply one of the better all-terrain tires in its class. Highly recommended.
