Pirelli Cinturato P7 Tire Review & Rating

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 features an ultra-high performance tread design that is engineered to deliver increased traction, improved ride comfort and a lower rolling resistance for added fuel efficiency. Built for drivers of sport coupes and sedans, the P7 sports the latest in Pirelli’s tire technology.

A high-performance low rolling resistance tread compound utilizes unique polymers that are formulated to increase traction on dry and wet road surfaces, while also being more environmentally friendly by lowering CO2 gasses. An asymmetric tread pattern and larger shoulder blocks enhance cornering grip and quicken steering response.

Four circumferential grooves help the tire evacuate water from under the tread for increased wet traction and a lower risk of hydroplaning. Pirelli has optimized the tread contact patch to reduce unwanted road noise and help extend the life of the tread. The tread design further increases ride comfort, which is an area often mentioned by other drivers.

Inside the tread you will find two steel belts that are reinforced with a nylon cap ply for added strength and durability at higher speeds. A polyester cord body increases ride comfort and promotes more even treadwear. Sizes range from P7 from 16-18 inches, and there is also a run-flat version in select sizes.

Overall Thoughts

The P7 is another Pirelli tire that hits the mark in high performance traction and handling. Braking, acceleration and cornering grip are all excellent on this tire. The steering is quick and responsive, and provides good feel throughout the speed range.

You may also like the fact that Pirelli has managed to build a performance tire that also addresses environmental concerns. While not a big deal to many drivers, it’s a nice option that appeals to a growing market. Couple that with an innovative tread compound that provides for a longer lasting treadlife, and you have a winner.

Overall, we like the Cinturato P7 and rank it in the upper half of this class. With its lower price and high performance, it makes for a good choice in new tires.

Pirelli provides a limited tread warranty on the P7. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear. Materials and workmanship are warranted for life and include free replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
