Hankook Unveils 4 New High Performance Tires

Hankook Tire America Corp. has certainly been busy with new product development as it showed off its four new high performance tires at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV this week.

The four new models include two that are designed for cars and two more that are specifically made for SUV’s, crossovers and light trucks, which means there is a little of something for any driving enthusiast.

Ventus V12 evo2

Featuring a unique “Aqua Jet” tread pattern design, the evo2 is a summer high performance tire built for sport coupes and sedans. It’s said to increase stability at higher speeds, enhance braking on both dry and wet pavement, as well as provide better overall treadlife.

The tire will be made available in the first half of 2014, and 62 rim sizes will be offered ranging from 16 to 21 inches.

Ventus V2 concept2

The Ventus V2 concept2 is a high performance all-season model built for drivers of all types of passenger vehicles. It sports a 3D tread block design with a continuous center rib for greater stability and increased braking and handling. Hankook has also added a noise control block in the shoulders of the tire to help in reducing road noise, and a high-density nylon reinforced belt design for increased cornering and handling performance.

Hankook has stated that this model should also be available in the first half of2014, and 22 rim sizes will be offered in 15 to 18 inches.

Ventus S1 evo2 SUV

For SUV and crossover owners looking for a premium ultra-high performance tire, the Ventus S1 evo2 SUV is designed with you in mind. With technology that has been engineered through Hankook’s association with the European DTM racing series, the evo2 SUV features exceptional cornering grip, increased dryand wet braking, and a lower rolling resistance.

Hankook expects to release this new model in the second half of 2014 with rim sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches being made available.

Dynapro HP2

As a high performance all-season tire for trucks, crossovers and SUV’s, theDynapro HP2 is loaded with new features such as locking radial sipes and grooves for increased handling on dry pavement, and a reduced risk of hydroplaning on wet surfaces. A stiffer continuous center rib which enhances steering response, and unique silencer sipes that reduce road noise are among many of the new enhancements on this new tire.

Hankook has said the HP2 will be made available in the second half of 2014. 36 rimsizes will be available ranging from 16 to 20 inches.
