Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country Tour Tire Review & Rating

For drivers of light trucks, SUV’s and crossovers who tend to drive on good road surfaces, the new Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country Tour was built with you in mind. Featuring the newest in Uniroyal tire technology, this model offers all-season traction with a smooth and comfortable ride.

An all new tread compound and open tread grooves enhance grip when driving on wet surfaces and in light snow. Wider shoulder blocks increase cornering stability and the tire’s tread design delivers quicker steering response.

Overall Thoughts

Driving on the Cross Country Tour is a pleasant experience. While the original Cross Country has been Uniroyal’s best-selling tire for years now, this new Cross Country Tour adds a bit more ride comfort than the original. It also has a little less road noise as well.

Handling on dry or wet pavement is very good on this tire. Unless you get crazy with the accelerator it resists hydroplaning as well as top models in its class. While it does handle light snow, those who live where the conditions get particularly bad might want to consider an alternative during the winter months. This tire just doesn’t have the performance for handling heavier amounts of snow or thicker ice.

Overall, Uniroyal has done a good job with this new model. We rank it in the mid-upper half of the truck/SUV highway all-season category.

  1. I have nothing but good things to say about my Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country Tour tires. I have almost 100000 kms on mine with no issues. They have even wear and are quiet and handle well on wet and dry pavement. However, I would not recommend them for snowy winter conditions. Perhaps some of these negative reviews have more to do with the vehicle or driving style rather than the tires themselves. .

  2. These tires are thee WORST tires, that I have ever purchased! They have about 12,000 miles on them. They are on a 2006 jeep liberty. On dry road they aren’t to bad, once you get used to the noise. Not very quiet.
On wet roads, they are a DISGRACE and a disaster! On slow pull outs at intersections (lights, stop signs, etc.) They constantly spin. No traction at all. I have to be careful on turns, because they slide, and the rear end wants to come around on you.
I never drove then in any type of snow yet,but fro. The other reviews that I read
I’m not looking forward to it. I previously bought the uniroyal tiger paw tires, and they were Great! But these tires are no where near the tiger paws. Can’t wait to throw throw them in the garbage and go back to B.F.Goodrich.

  3. Have had these tires on a Mazda Tribute for approx 25000 miles and they have excessive uneven wear. Have never had this on any tire previously. They handle great on dry pavement and have a quiet ride. However, they’re terrible on packed snow, and make for a scary ride in heavy rain. The hydroplaning is awful. These tires won’t make it to 30000 miles, and i will never buy them again.

  5. Bought a new set in September of 2016. Already had to replace one due to defect. Had vibration in truck. After replacing one tire vibration is coming back. Now another one has a hump in it. 2 months old and defects. Tires were great and quiet when i purchased them and was very happy. Not anymore. I have them on a 2008 tacomasr5.
