Pro Comp Radial Xtreme All Terrain Tire Review & Rating

The Pro Comp Radial Xtreme All Terrain is built to provide Jeep and truck owners a tire that not only performs well off the beaten path, but one that still has good on-road manners. It features a very aggressive tread design for an A/T tire, which is both attractive and functional, and made for serious heavy-duty use.

A state of the art tread compound and Tri-ply construction gives this model increased puncture resistance, added durability and a longer treadlife. Durability is further enhanced with two steel belts and a spiral-wound nylon overwrap. This also allows the tires to carry heavier loads on the highway.(Optional E load ranges are available.)

Pro Comp Radial Xtreme All Terrain Tire Review

An all season tread design ensures that the Pro Comp Radial All Terrain tires perform consistently on dry and wet road surfaces, as well as on snow. The elliptical siping pattern aids traction in winter weather conditions.

The aggressive tread pattern is what provides solid off-road performance on the Xtreme A/T. It tackles dirt, sand, gravel, rocks and other terrain with relative ease. The tires can be found in 15 to 20 inch sizes and Pro Comp includes a 40,000 mile tread warranty.

Pros

  • Solid performance across different terrains and road conditions
  • Can be used year round even in snow
  • Long lasting treadlife
  • Good on-road manners

Cons

  • Some extra road noise
  • Mud performance

Overall Thoughts

For trucks and jeeps that regularly head off road or onto less than suitableterrain the Radial Xtreme All Terrain provides consistent and solid performance. Good traction and anti-puncture technology ensures that it can handle most on and off-road surfaces without issue. The tires do very well on wet roads, which is often a problem for AT tires.

You’ll find that off-road driving is excellent on most terrains. They do quite well on grass, gravel, dirt and rock. While not on the level of the top rock climbing tires, they do provide basic traction that will suit the average driver. Where the tire falls down a bit is in mud, especially deeper amounts of mud. The tires tend to pack up and lose traction, which is not what you’re looking for in a better performing tire.

On-road, the tires deliver a pretty comfortable ride for the most part. Road noise is a little more pronounced as you might expect from looking at the aggressive tread design, but not as loud as an MT tire. Overall, we rank this model in the middle of its class.
