Pirelli P6 Four Seasons Plus Tire Review & Rating

Pirelli’s latest touring all-season tire, the P6 Four Seasons Plus, combines dependable year round traction and handling with the ride comfort you would expect from Pirelli. Engineered for drivers of all types of luxury coupes and sedans, this newest P6 utilizes the latest in new tire technology.

One example of this technology is Pirelli’s Extra Low Rolling Resistance that combines an all-silica tread compound, sidewall belts and other components to give the tire a lower rolling resistance for improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced all-season traction.

Pirelli P6 Four Seasons Plus Tire Review

The asymmetric tread design and continuous center rib increase dry surface grip and stability, while larger shoulder blocks improve tire to road contact and provide more even treadwear.

Two unique circumferential grooves around the center of the tire work to evacuate water from under the tire when conditions turn rainy. These grooves help reduce the risk of hydroplaning and increase driver confidence. Biting edges on the tire’s siped intermediate tread blocks, aid in getting through light snow covered road surfaces.

Inside the tread you will find two high tensile steel belts with nylon wrapped reinforcement that provide added strength and stability when driving at higher speeds. Pirelli includes a 45,000mile tread warranty on the P6 Plus.

Pros

  • Excellent dry surface traction and cornering grip
  • Tires ride smooth and comfortably
  • Minimal outside road noise

Cons

  • Treadlife has been an issue for some

Overall Thoughts

Driving on dry pavement with these Pirelli’s is a treat. The tire grips the corners among the best touring tires in this class, and steering response and overall stability are very good. As it is with most Pirelli tires, the ride is smooth and comfortable, and outside road noise is not an issue.

The drawbacks with this tire is that wet surface handling could be improved on, and treadlife has been a problem for some drivers, although for other drivers it has not. We like the performance and value of this P6 and rank it in the middle to upper half of the class.
