Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow Tire Review & Rating

The Scorpion Ice & Snow from Pirelli Tires is one of the company’s high performance winter tires that is engineered to provide excellent winter traction regardless of weather conditions and low temperatures. Designed for drivers of luxury SUV’s, crossovers and muscle cars like the Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger, this tire is also built to provide higher performance on dry cold pavement, as well as added cornering grip.

The tread compound is specially designed by Pirelli to stay flexible in low temperatures so that you can expect no drop-off in performance when driving through all types of winter weather conditions.

Dry pavement handling and traction are enhanced through the tire’s wider footprint, outer shoulder blocks and softer compound. The squared shoulder block design adds ride smoothness and increased stability throughout the speed range.

Performance on snow, slush and ice is increased through 3-D cross-sipes on the tread blocks, as well as added circumferential grooves. They combine to evacuate water and slush from under the tread and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. The sipes and angled tread blocks provide additional biting edges for grip on packed snow and ice.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are reinforced with nylon for a dded strength and durability. They also increase overall treadlife, which is an area that many drivers have commented on as being quite good. Pirelli has 15-22 sizes available on this model, and includes a limited lifetime warranty. It should be noted that Pirelli recommends installing the Scorpion Snow & Ice in sets of four tires only.

The Scorpion Snow and Ice provides exceptional performance on light or deep snow, slush, ice, rain or any other winter weather elements you want to travel through. It starts and stops as good as any tire in this class. Cornering grip and dry handling on cold pavement is equally impressive. The tires give you a good feel in all driving situations.

Ride comfort is very good on this tire and the tread sports a longer lifespan thany ou might expect. Overall, this is one of the better winter tires available today.

This model does not have a mileage guarantee, however you will find a one-year or first 2/32 inch of wear warranty on the tire’s uniformity. Materials and workmanship are warranted for an unlimited time period and include free tire replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear.
