Designed for today’s light trucks and SUV’s, the Nexen Roadian 542 is built to deliver a high performance and consistent driving experience. They can also hold heavy loads without compromising on quality.
Four wide straight grooves in addition to a straight lateral groove help with braking and coping with wet weather conditions while avoiding hydroplaning and ensuring water is evacuated efficiently.
Cornering and overall handling is improved through the dual pitch type shoulder design that stiffens the shoulder block, while a straight center rib adds more stability even at higher speeds and on uneven road surfaces.
The Nexen 542 incorporates a five random variable pitch sequence to reduce the amount of noise on the road while maintaining comfort and performance. The tires are available in sizes ranging from 17 to 19 inches, and come in either an H or V speed rating.

Overall Thoughts
Essentially the tires get solid marks in virtually all categories from driving in wet and dry conditions to handling light snow in the winter. Not a winter specific tire by any means but one which won’t perform badly in most cases.
Stability, cornering and steering are all very good and Nexen has learned a lot from the Roadian 541’s. While the previous incarnation was not a bad tire by any means, this model takes them to a whole new level of driving dependability and high performance.
Overall, the Nexen 542 is a well made tire that delivers good value and performance for the money.
