New Nitto Terra Grappler G2 To Be Released Oct 1 2014

On the heels of their latest release, the Exo Grappler AWT last month, comes the all-new second generation Nitto Terra Grappler G2. Set for release the first week of October, 2014, this new model will be the first in the Grappler line to feature a treadwear warranty.

The G2 utilizes a new high-tech tread rubber compound to go with a completely re-engineered tread design both inside and out. This new design is touted by Nitto as one that will increase treadlife, while maximizing overall performance.

Treadlife will be guaranteed for 50,000 miles on LT sizes and 65,000 miles for all metric tire sizes.

While this new Terra Grappler G2 looks similar to its predecessor, Nitto has added full depth sipes to enhance wet grip, as well as reduce braking distances. Coupling joints have been added between the outer and center tread blocks that are designed to create more rigidity for better treadwear.

Nitto has used a unique thunderbolt pattern on one side of its new dual-sidewall design on the G2 that looks pretty cool and aggressive. On the other side of the tire you’ll find a blade design that is made to integrate the sidewall lugs and shoulder tread blocks.

Two areas that Nitto’s engineers wanted to address was improving overall handling and reducing tread noise. Noise-canceling variable tread pitch block technology is used to help in eliminating excessive noise, while more balanced void ratios is said to increase on and off-road handling.

The Terra Grappler G2 is scheduled to launch in 20 sizes, with 35 more coming out in the near future. Here’s a list of the 20 sizes to be available in Oct:
