Nankang CX-668 Tire Review & Rating

The Nankang CX-668 touring tire is designed to provide dependable year round traction with a quiet and more comfortable ride. Developed for drivers of smaller coupes and sedans, the CX 668 includes some of the latest tire technology in the tread design.

An all-season tread compound sports rounded shoulder blocks and a continuous center rib for enhanced dry pavement grip and stability. Unique double grooves on the shoulders provide increased balance and divert force, which result in more even treadwear.

Four circumferential grooves and a multi-sipe design add traction and stability on wet road surfaces. It also improves hydroplane resistance and adds more confidence behind the wheel.

A computer enhanced pitch tread sequence reduces road noise and increases ride comfort. Inside the tire you will find steel belted construction for added strength and durability. Nankang offers a range of 12-15 sizes that come with either a T or H-speed rating. A 40K mile tread warranty is also part of the package.

Overall Thoughts

The CX668 is a pretty good low cost touring tire. You’ll find solid performance on dry or wet pavement, while maintaining a pleasant ride whether in town or on the highway. Steering response is quick and braking is good on both dry and wet surfaces.

Our biggest complaint with this model would be with its performance on snow and ice. Like so many other all-season tires, traction and handling is lacking in winter conditions, especially braking and acceleration on ice or hard-packed snow. Of course, Nankang didn’t design this as a winter tire.

Overall, while we like many other better performing touring all-season tires, the CX-668 is a decent option that will work well for drivers looking for an everyday type of tire that won’t break the bank in its cost.. We give it a rank in the middle of this category.

Warranty

Nankang provides a 40,000 mile tread warranty on the CX668. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first 10% of treadwear. Materials and workmanship are warranted for a prorated amount down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
