Michelin Harmony Tire Review & Rating

The Harmony is Michelin’s all-season tire that is engineered to provide year round traction and handling to go with a long lasting treadlife. Designed for drivers of all types of coupes, sedans, minivans and crossovers, the Harmony delivers a smooth and quiet ride, as well as a lower budget-friendly price.

An all-season tread compound and symmetrical tread pattern are combined to deliver a longer lasting treadlife. Independent shoulder tread blocks and lateral grooves provide enhanced dry traction, while intermediate tread ribs increase wet and snow surface grip. A continuous center rib adds stability and increased steering response, which it does very well. It also creates a more comfortable and quiet ride quality.

Michelin Harmony Tire Review

Four circumferential grooves enhance wet surface handling and reduce the risk of hydroplaning, while the tire’s multiple lateral sipes add biting edges that grip snow and ice to give the tire increased traction. Many drivers have commented on how well this tire performs in the snow.

Inside the tire you will find Michelin’s Stress Equilibrium Casing, which includes two steel belts and a polyester cord body that optimize tread contact with the road surface by reducing distortion. This not only increases tire stability, but it promotes more even treadwear. A variable tread pitch sequence reduces outside road noise and enhances ride comfort. Michelin backs up this model with an 80,000 mile tread guarantee.

Pros

  • Excellent dry traction
  • Ride comfort is among best in class
  • Outstanding treadlife
  • Performance and value for the money is exceptional

Cons

  • Wet traction and cornering could be improved

Overall Thoughts

Note: Since our review was published, Michelin has discontinued making the Harmony.

The Harmony offers excellent performance as a basic all-season tire. Dry pavement traction and cornering is outstanding on this tire. The steering is responsive and provides the kind of feedback you would normally find only on a high performance tire. Wet traction is more than adequate, but we would like to see a little more higher speed traction.

Ride comfort is another area where this tire excels. Michelin has simply done an exceptional job in this area. Road noise is nearly non-existent and makes you feel as if you are riding on a more expensive touring tire.

Finally, the treadlife you can expect from this model is among the best of any all-season tire. We’ve heard drivers mention getting 100K or more out of the tread. Michelin backs it up with an 80,000 mile warranty. Overall, the Harmony is one of the best all-season tires on the market today. The performance and value it provides for the lower cost makes it a solid choice in tires.
