Michelin Pilot Super Sport Is OE On 2016 Cadillac CTS-V

Working closely with General Motors’ Cadillac team, Michelin has developed a specially tuned version of the Super Sport tire to match the capabilities of the next generation CTS-V.

Using the same engine you’ll find in the Corvette Z06, the super charged 6.2-liter cranks out 640 HP and propels the CTS-V to speeds of around 200 mph. In addition, 0-60 times come in at a mind-blowing 3.7 seconds. This certainly isn’t your everyday Cadillac, but one that is among the elite on the planet at this point in time.

Michelin announced that sizes on the CTS-V will be 265/35ZR19 on the front and 295/30ZR19 on the rear.

According to Thom Roach, vice president of Michelin’s original equipment marketing division, “The Michelin Pilot Super Sport that we jointly developed for the Cadillac CTS-V strengthens the strategic engineering initiative between our companies to provide the highest-possible performance experience to Cadillac drivers. Similar to our exclusive fitment on the first-ever Cadillac ATS-V, CTS-V owners will enjoy asmoother ride, improved dry handling, excellent performance in the rain, low noise and long tread life.”

The Super Sport utilizes Michelin’s most innovative UHP technology, which includes the latest advances in tread compound that have been adapted to provide improved wet and dry grip and give CTS-Vowners a longer lasting tread life without sacrificing performance.

Featuring an aggressive steel belt package up until now has been reserved for Michelin racing tires, its tread depth is tuned to balance everyday street wear and also provide the ultimate grip required for extreme race track performance, the tire maker says. Three different Michelin rubber compounds are engineered and precisely located across the tire’s tread surface to optimize tread life.
