Kumho Tires To Be OE On 2016 Dodge Viper

Kumho Tire landed a contract to become the sole supplier of tires for the all-new 2016 Dodge Viper. The Kumho Ecsta V720 (Viper Edition) will be featured on the new when it is released later in the year.

According to Kumho, the V720 tested out over 1.5 seconds faster than other competitive benchmark tires in lap times.

The V720 will be offered as a staggered fitment of 295/25R19 up front, and a massive 355/30R19 in the rear. The tires are designed for cornering at upwards of 1.5-G’s.

In creating this special edition tire for the Viper, Kumho has added a unique sidewall design that features the ACR logo and a cool looking snakeskin detail pattern. The tire itself is built with reinforced outer shoulder blocks and an asymmetric tread pattern for enhanced performance.

“It is a considerable feat for Kumho to supply OE tires for the Dodge Viper ACR since it means our technological prowess has been recognized in the global high-performance car market,” said Hyun-Ho Kim, Senior Vice President at Kumho Tire. “The Ecsta V720 holds great significance to us as it is built on our racing technology accumulated through the aggressive motorsport campaigns we have conducted over the years a thome and abroad.”
