Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 Tire Review & Rating

With a cutting-edge tread design and all-season traction, the Ventus V4 ES H105 from Hankook has a lot going for it as is the company’s ultra-high performance all-season tire. It has been engineered for drivers of sport coupes and sedans as a year round option to summer driving tires.

The directional tread pattern combined with an advanced profile design that features a continuous center rib and larger independent shoulder blocks give this tire enhanced dry pavement traction and cornering power. It also creates quicker steering response and control.

Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 Tire Review

The state of the art all-season tread compound and advanced design in the V4 ES eliminate the road noise and provide a more comfortable ride than many of the leading competitors.

On wet road surfaces the H105 uses its wider circumferential grooves to evacuate more water away from the tire and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. Added lateral slots and multiple sipes around the tread increase grip and traction on both wet or snow covered roads.

Inside the tire you’ll find two steel belts with spirally wrapped nylon to provide added reinforcement. This results in increased durability and stability at higher speeds, while also giving the tire more even wear and a longer lifespan. This is one reason why Hankook provides a 50,000 mile tread warranty on the tire.

Pros
  • Dry surface handling and cornering are excellent
  • Wet traction above average
  • Long lasting tread life
  • Very comfortable tire to ride on and low road noise

Cons

  • Would like to see better snow and ice traction

Overall Thoughts

We give the Ventus V4 ES somewhat mixed results. It performs well on dry road surfaces both around town and on the highway. Cornering stability is above average and the tire does well on wet pavement.

Another strong area is in how comfortable the ride is on this tire both in town and on the highway. On the other hand, traction and handling on snow and ice could be improved on. That said, the V4 ES has a long tread life and it offers good value for the money.
