Hankook Mileage Plus II H725 Tire Review & Rating

The new Mileage Plus II H725 from Hankook is built to provide all-season traction and handling with a quiet and comfortable ride. Developed for drivers of all types of coupes, sedans and minivans, Hankook has priced this tire to most fit any budget.

A computer modeled design and unique tread compound gives the H725 a lower rolling resistance, which results in increased fuel efficiency. Many drivers have made mention of gaining 1-2 mpg in various reviews. The treadlife on this model is enhanced through smaller center rib tie bars that help the tire resist treadwear around the center, which is a major cause of premature wear. Another benefit to these tie bars is that it increases steering response and feel.

Wet surface traction and grip are increased due to high angled center diagonal grooves and intermediate channels that work to expel water away from the tire and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. Hankook has made driving in light snow safer with the high kerf density across the tread, which creates “cutting edges” that provide additional grip.

Something you will notice quickly when you drive on this tire is in how quiet the ride is. Outside road noise is minimal due to the use of new technology and computer optimization in the tread pattern arrangement.

Inside the tire you’ll find twin steel belts for added strength and stability at higher speeds, as well as increased overall riding comfort. An 80,000 mile tread warranty is also included.

Pros

  • All-season handling and traction, including snow, is excellent
  • Ride is quiet and comfortable
  • Long treadlife and an 80,000 mile warranty
  • Good value for the money

Cons

  • Cornering grip could be better for more spirited drivers

Overall Thoughts

The H725 is a decent all-season performer. It flies under the radar so to speak because you can’t find much information about it. That said, it’s worth taking a look at. The performance on wet, dry or snow covered road surfaces is very good, and the quiet ride may surprise you. Add in the 80,000 mile tread warranty and lower price points, and you have a solid option in a new tire that fits just about any budget.

  1. They currently have 20,000 miles on them. This car is stored in a closed storage area no sun. This car sits for months on end with out use and no air get lost when I take her out for some excersise. The tread shows minimal signs of wear and the most amazing thing is that they still show NO signs of dry rot after 9 years. These were my first set of Hankooks and now all of my cars have been switched over.

Currently installing a set of H426’s on the daily driver Jag, Will post that later.
