The GT Radial Champiro WinterPro is not only designed to provide drivers of various coupes, sedans and minivans reliable traction and handling in all types of winter driving conditions, but it also easy on pocketbook.

A silica tread compound, symmetric tread pattern and directional groove design helps the tire stick to the road and adds more grip on wet and snowy roads. The tread’s optimized sipe design is constructed to achieve increased stability during braking and acceleration on hard-packed snow, slush and ice. The compound’s added silica content aids in helping the tire maintain better grip on cold wet pavement.

The GT Radial WinterPro features a continuous center rib design that increases handling stability and steering response on cold dry pavement throughout the speed range. In fact we’ve heard drivers mention the quicker response, which you often only find with more expensive winter tires.

Four wide circumferential work to channel away water and slush from under the tread, while also reducing the risk of hydroplaning and slipping around corners. The compound has been created to work well in colder temperatures as well. This compound and tread pattern also helps deliver a quiet and comfortable ride on all types of pavement surfaces.

Inside the tire are dual steel belts with a spirally wrapped nylon ply that add strength and durability to the tire. GT Radial offers sizes ranging from 13-16 inches, and speed ratings of T and H.

If you’re looking for a basic winter tire that handles all kinds of snow, sleet, slush and ice at a budget-friendly cost, this GT Radial WinterPro makes a good option. We like the performance it delivers in all-weather conditions, and it continues to perform well in very cold temperatures. There’s not a lot of excessive road noise and treadlife has shown to be pretty good.

While we would like to see additional sizes in the 17-18 range, this tire is more designed for smaller compacts, coupes and sedans. Overall, we rank this model in the middle of the basic winter tire class. It provides dependable traction when you need it most, and price makes it a good value.

The Champiro WinterPro comes with a limited tread warranty. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first 2/32 inch of wear. Materials and workmanship are warranted for 5-years include free replacement during the first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time period or until the tire reaches the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
